Halloween and a Beach Trip!

It has been a busy week!

Last Thursday was Halloween and I couldn't have been more excited to dress Sienna up.  I'm actually surprised I had the willpower to not put her costume on her prior to Halloween!  I stumbled across this costume unexpectedly at a consignment sale (don't worry I washed it!) back in September.  Not only is it PERFECT for her, but it only cost us $5.

As always, she was such a good sport and had no problems wearing a big bulky costume with footies and a head piece.  I bet she's the cutest little skunk you've ever seen!

Cutest skunk ever!

There was no trick or treating this year...as she's really too young for it and we wanted to get on the road as soon as possible for the long drive to Florida ahead of us.  Instead, we dressed her up, took lots of pictures and walked to our neighbors house to show her off and say hello.

We left shortly after to drive to Juno Beach, FL for a long weekend to see my Grandmother and celebrate her 90th birthday.  We broke up the drive and stayed Thursday night in Jacksonville which made traveling with an almost 5 month old much easier.

Our trip to Florida was great!  Sienna got to see her "Nannie" again and meet her "GG" for the very first time.  Even with broken routines and missed naps, Si remained a happy, giggly little girl.  She had us laughing all weekend as she learned how to blow with her tongue sticking out.  I tried to capture this in a picture but was never quick enough.

Family time

Sienna also had her first visit to the beach & ocean!  I foresee many beach trips in our future as the salty water and air supposedly helps CFers greatly.  I believe a study was done on the healthiness of individuals with CF that surfed - which identified the benefit of inhaling salt.  Hypertonic saline is now added into the treatment rotation for many CFers.  This is not something we do currently, so for now, we'll stick to beach vacations.

Trying out the beach life

The health benefits to Sienna are just another reason to take vacations often :)  Who knows, maybe a move to the coast will be in our future!
