When Mom's Away...
Sienna and I have gotten our CPT regimen down. With the lights off, music on, and some terrible singing, she will quickly fall asleep in my arms each night as I start her chest physiotherapy (I do wonder sometimes how she tolerates my singing of "You are my sunshine" over and over and over...).
I had to go out of town earlier this week, which meant Joe was on bedtime duty. I know he can get her to bed just fine, but I wanted to make sure he was comfortable taking on her CPT. To make it as easy as possible, I made him a special sleeper.
I took a cotton sleeper and marked an "x" on each spot where he would need to use the percusser cup. I then cut out fabric hearts and attached them to the sleeper over each X with an iron and some adhesive netting. It came out so cute!
I shared this picture in one of my CF mom groups and many commented on how helpful something like this would be for teaching CPT to new CF families or caretakers. So... I'm considering selling them on Etsy!
Since the spots may vary for each baby, I wouldn't want to adhere the shapes to the sleeper. It's extremely important CPT is done correctly, so anyone new to it should look for guidance from their clinic team. I'd most likely provide a sleeper, cut out shapes with adhesive backing, and instructions on how to iron on. Simple enough right? If I do end up selling these, all money would be donated towards CF research.
Joe survived two bedtimes and nights of CPT with a wiggly baby. Now it's back to mom and Sienna time!
