We had our Great Strides walk two weekends ago in Charlotte - I wanted to send a huge THANKS to all our friends that joined us to help us raise awareness and support those fighting Cystic Fibrosis.
Saturday was an early morning getting ready for the event, since I quite possibly waited until the very last minute to make Sienna a special walk day shirt. It came out pretty darn good if I don't say so myself! (yes, I decided to tie-dye the night before...luckily it didn't turn her blue :))

When we got to the event, we checked in and picked up a "VIP" lei for Sienna to wear since she's still pretty tiny for the "VIP" t-shirts that were handed out. The lei/t-shirts are for 1) recognizing those we walk for and 2) identifying those who have CF so proper distance can be kept between them.

Prior to the walk, there were lots of kid friendly activities such as hula hoops, bubbles, music/dancing, etc. Sir Purr, the Charlotte Panthers mascot, and Homer, the Charlotte Knights mascot, where both there taking photos and hanging out with the kids. Sienna was a fan of the kitty...not so much the dinosaur.

Our team grew from last year - from 14 to 26 people! Sienna loved having her friends there for the fun. We got coffee, breakfast and mingled until the walk kicked off.

We lucked out with a beautiful, 70 degree, sunny morning. To top it off, our Charlotte team raised $2500 this year! Our Strides for Sienna National team (combining Charlotte, Danbury and Syracuse teams) has raised over $10,000!!!
Such a huge achievement to hit that goal two years in a row. Again, a big
thank you to all our friends and family for the continued support and charitable donations! We truly appreciate all the love and support for our amazing, little girl and look forward to seeing how big our team can grow next year!
