Valentine's Shopping

Joe is a Christmas baby. That means on top of all the Christmas shopping that happens around here, I also have to focus on making sure his birthday is celebrated and not overshadowed by the holiday. It also means that as soon as we turn the corner on the new year, I need to start coming up with gift ideas for Valentine's Day.

When you are moving through life with two young kids, one of which has medical needs, it can be easy to get lost in the mundane tasks of the every day. I'm in a few support groups where moms vent about how they have to manage everything for their children and home, and how exhausting and depressing it is to have an unhelpful partner. When I hear so many women chiming in on how that's the same in their home, I realize we are truly SO LUCKY to have a husband/father that is hands on and 100% invested in his children. Joe manages medical bills and prescription refills. He gets Sienna's daily treatments done, and nebulizer cups clean and sterilized. He carves out time to go to doctor appointments, and even better - takes the day off so he can take Sienna out to lunch and a movie after - making her look forward to her CF appointments instead of dreading them. I cannot imagine life without this guy.
