Holiday Gift Guide 2018

One of my favorite things about social media is how I've had the opportunity to "meet" new people and discover new shops/brands - all through some tiny squares on Instagram! The girls both 'repped' for various handmade shops over the years, opening up my eyes to the talent in the small business community and inspiring me to pursue photography.  I just love how social media brings us together and fuels our creativity.

Over the past few years, I've built some incredible relationships which have led to some amazing partnerships. And thanks to these partnerships, we've had the chance to try out new products and work with brands we've admired for a long time.  So this year, I thought I'd share my two cents on what some of our favorite products have been...as well as what's on our shopping list this holiday season*.

Also - because this is the season of giving, I have partnered with several of the brands below to bring multiple giveaways to you - just follow me on instagram and/or facebook for your chance to win!

*While some of these products we received at no cost, the choice to feature them in this post is solely based on my appreciation for the product.

For the kids

See Kai Run Shoes - this brand of shoes bring both style and durability to footwear for kids! My girls go through SO MANY SHOES with how rough they play, so when I found See Kai Run, I knew they were a perfect fit for us. We broke out these new Peyton's in pewter leather recently and the girls haven't skipped a day wearing them since.

Magic Pad - this fun coloring pad has been a lifesaver for us, and would make the perfect gift for kids that love to color, do puzzles, make signs, etc. I love this Magic Pad because it's easy for Sienna to use for treatments, great for throwing in my bag to bring along to restaurants for entertainment, and the perfect size accessory for keeping the kids entertained on a road trip. It's also on Amazon and under $20!

Fathers Factory Wooden Digital Camera - Sienna isn't a fan of being in pictures, but she loves taking them. And she's really good! This year, I discovered Fathers Factory and not only are the cameras sleek and fit for a toddler/child, but I can actually edit and print the photos Sienna takes with the it. The wooden digital cameras for the older kids (or adults!) run for $129 - $250, but you can also find non digital, toddler friendly versions for about $50.

Plasma Cars - my girls were gifted these by family last Christmas and they are a FAVORITE in our house. They seriously get so much use and keep them entertained for hours. I'm pretty sure they can be used inside or outside, but we keep ours inside on a floor that is all hardwoods. Joe used a pool noodle and some colorful duct tape to create bumpers on them to avoid scratches on walls. These can be bought at most major retailers including Amazon (linked) and Walmart, and range in price from $27 - $80 depending on brand and retailer.

Love Lane Designs - both of my girls are big fans of playing dress up. While princess dresses are wildly popular in our house, they also love a good super hero cape and mask. Thanks to my insta pals, I found this fun shop just in time for the holidays. I got Tess the purple cape and moto set and can't wait to watch all the fun she has running around in it! These high quality dress up items range from $25 - $140.

Kano Computer Kit - Sienna and I had the best time building her own computer one afternoon when it was just her and me home. The excitement of getting it to work and "talk" to her was such a fun moment to witness. I would say she's on the young side of using the coding apps, but she does love playing with "her computer", and I see her getting years of play out of the computer. You can get one on Amazon for about $200.

Hazel Village animal or doll - These are about 14" tall and start at $40. We got Tessa Phoebe fawn for Christmas last year who she adores. Pick out an animal or doll and a few outfits (see stocking stuffer ideas) and your little one will have a new friend ready for adventures.

For Anyone

Aquio Water bottle with Bluetooth Speaker - we were fortunate enough to partner with Aquio earlier this year, and quickly became hooked on their sleek water bottle with bluetooth speaker! It was perfect for toting along to the pool and using for music while we hung around outside. I love this for anyone who is frequently on the go and already have one set aside for a special person on our shopping list. You can get one directly from iHome and right now, you can save 25% with code 'Gift25'.

Aura Frame - this digital, wifi, frame shows photos in such high quality it blew my mind! You load your frame with photos through an app on your phone which makes it a great gift for someone you want to send photos to over the year (think, grandparents!).  These frames are sleek in design and would look great in any room. The price range is $299 - $399, but the modern frame we have is currently on sale for $50 off!

Aura Digital Picture Frame

Sel De Vie Jewelry - this gorgeous jewelry line is co-owned and designed by another CF mom in the Charlotte area. Shopping with them not only gets you a beautiful statement piece, but a portion of proceeds is donated directly to the CF Foundation. You'll look good while doing good! Pieces range from $18 - $115.

Mapiful Map - I love the idea of creating a personalized map for someone special in your life. You can choose location, colors, frame, etc to make it match your space to perfection. I just had one made for Boston, MA, where Joe and I first met and lived for years before heading south. It's one of our all time favorite spots!

Stocking Stuffers

  • Lunchbox notes from Ellie and Piper. These scratch off notes would make anyone's day! Pick up some for the kids or your husband, and while there, check out the fun party decor and other gift ideas as well. Lunchbox notes are $16.
  • Wooden puzzle or a matching game from This and That. Love the simple style of these wooden items; which range $20 - $35.
  • Watercolor paints, crayons, or paperdolls from Lola and Lark. This cute shop curates some amazing brands and products in their online storefront!
  • This year we'll be adding to Phoebe fawn's closet with some new clothes. I love the bonnets, rompers, and costumes available!
  • Skincare/beauty items for everyone. I love stocking up on essentials this time of year. Some of our favorites are Babo Botanticals sunscreen sticks ($12 - $15, for the kids) and lip tints ($10, for the mommas), and VIVAIODAYS hair detangler ($14).

I'm sure I could go on and on, but I'll stop here and let you get to shopping. So tell me, what's on your shopping list this year? Any other cool products/gadgets that we should check out??
